Namgyao Kelsang, 20, was charged with two counts of illegal sale of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of narcotics and one count of conspiracy to sale of a controlled substance. He was held on $11,000 bond and will appear in court Wednesday.

Over the past several weeks, the department's Selective Enforcement Unit developed information that an employee of Steam Restaurant on Post Road was selling marijuana to local teens, police said. The sales took place inside the restaurant or in the rear parking lot, according to police.

Over the past week, several controlled purchases were conducted, including one Monday at 6 p.m., police said. During that transaction, members of the SEU, the Detective Division and the Patrol Division apprehended Kelsang as he was attempting to sell marijuana, according to police reports.

He was taken into custody without incident on an arrest warrant that had been previously granted.

A small quantity of marijuana was found in Kelsang's possession as he was taken into custody, according to police. A search warrant was conducted at his home on Mansfield Avenue, where police found an additional 13 grams of marijuana, according to police reports.
