Darien Shoplifter Makes Off With $1,500 In Items From Stamford Target

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Darien woman loaded up two carts with items worth more than $1,500 from the Target in Stamford and drove off with them, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Police told the Stamford Advocate that the woman, 30-year-old Anna Just, was at the Target on March 17 when she brought a shopping cart full of stuff up to the customer service desk. She left it there, then went and loaded up another cart with items, and was seen getting on an elevator with both carts, the Stamford Advocate reported.

Security for the store watched Just bring the carts out to her car and load the items in the back, the Stamford Advocate reported. The items included two vacuum cleaners worth $700, as well as a coffee maker, storage bins and a clock, according to the Stamford Advocate.

When a security officer stopped her as she was driving away, Just admitted to him that she had taken the items without paying before she drove off, the Stamford Advocate reported.

A warrant was issued for her arrest and she was picked up at the Stamford courthouse, the Stamford Advocate reported. She has other pending shoplifting cases, according to the Stamford Advocate. She was charge with third-degree larceny and released on a $5,000 bond, the Stamford Advocate reported.
