DARIEN, Conn. A Darien teenager was arrested on a drug charge after a resident reported seeing a group of teens trespassing on a neighbor's property.
Police received a call at 11:45 a.m. Thursday from a resident of Inwood Road. He told police that the family was away and nobody was supposed to be on the property.
When police arrived, they reported seeing two teens playing basketball, who immediately ran off when they saw the officers. Police said they saw four more teens running from a detached garage.
In the garage, police reported that they smelled a strong odor of marijuana and found a 10-inch glass bong as well as 15 marijuana cigarettes on a table with chairs arranged around it.
Officers found a teenager getting into a car parked on Inwood Road. He admitted to having been on the property and in the garage but would not name any of his companions. He was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing and possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana. He was issued a misdemeanor summons to appear in court June 25 and released to his father.
