The 17-year-old from Darien was charged with providing alcohol to minors and possession of alcohol. He was issued a juvenile referral to appear in court.

Officers were clearing out the grounds of Darien High School on Friday at about 10:15 p.m. following the fireworks when they encountered a group of teens near the school's tennis courts, police said.

One of the teens, a 17-year-old Greenwich girl, appeared extremely intoxicated, police said. Police said that the girl had vomited, and an ambulance was called to take her to Stamford Hospital.

Officers spoke to a group of teens in the area and discovered that the 17-year-old Darien resident had provided the alcohol, according to police reports.

Police found a backpack with a nearly-empty bottle of Dewar's White Label Whisky and plastic cups. The teen was then arrested.
