The store’s management called police to report receiving a phone call from an unknown number at about 3 p.m., Thursday. The caller “used threatening language” and included the word “bomb,” Darien Police Sgt. Jeremiah Marron said in a press release.

The building was evacuated, and searched by the Stamford Police Bomb Squad, including a bomb-sniffing K-9 unit. Police did not find any explosives, and the store was able to re-open by about 5 p.m., Marron said.

Anyone with information on the case, especially those who may be able to identify the caller, are being urged to call the Darien Police at 203-662-5330.
