Driver Charged With Killing Pedestrian In Hit-And-Run Crash In Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. — A pedestrian was killed and two others were injured after they were struck by a hit-and-run driver late Friday in front of a Norwalk liquor store, The Hour reported.

The driver of the pickup truck, Hugo Cruz-Gregorio, 33, of 9 Hanford Place, Norwalk, was charged with second-degree manslaughter, evading responsibility with injury, evading responsibility, operating without a license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, unsafe moving and operating under the influence, The Hour reported.  

Cruz-Gregorio fled the scene, but was tracked down by officers after a search, witnesses said. The accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. Friday at 50 Woodward Ave. 

Three victims were transported to Norwalk Hospital, where one man died and the others had nonlife-threatening injuries, The Hour said.
