Gov. Dannel Malloy has lifted the travel ban on local roads for Fairfield County, but Greenwich needs more time to clear local roads, said Police Lt. Kraig Gray.
"The Town of Greenwich has not lifted our local snow emergency for our local roads," Gray said. "Please stay off roads and allow DPW to continue to do their work in safe environment. Although the snow accumulations were less than prediction it will take time remove and road conditions are still relatively poor."
The highway travel ban continues across the entire state Tuesday morning after the overnight snowfall. The predicted blizzard did not strike the state, but parts of Fairfield County saw a half-foot of snow or more with drifts.
Greenwich expects to have an update on the snow status at about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Gray said.
