Greenwich Cops: Darien Man Charged In Drugs For Gun Deal

GREENWICH, Conn. -- A second suspect has been arrested in a drug deal in which the currency for the drugs was a firearm, Greenwich police said.

Todd Pleasants, 23, of Darien is charged with the illegal transfer of a pistol or a revolver, according to Greenwich police.

Todd Pleasants, 23, of Darien, turned himself in to Darien police Wednesday after Greenwich, Stamford and MTA police had been reportedly searching for him for two days, according to a Greenwich police release.

Officers arrested Mark Thomas Pelazza, 24, of Stamford on Monday on East Putnam Avenue near the Greenwich-Stamford border as the second party in the deal, police said.

During the investigation, Pleasants fled and could not be found, police said. Law enforcement officials from Greenwich, Stamford and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority tried to track him using K-9 units and a bloodhound but were unsuccessful, police said.

Pleasants was charged with the illegal transfer of a pistol or revolver, first-degree burglary, second-degree larceny, interfering with an officer, conspiracy and criminal attempt.

He was transferred to Greenwich Police Headquarters and held on $150,000 bond.

Pleasants is due to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Oct. 2.
