Anthony Knox, 25, was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer.
Police were called to a Maple Street home at 11:21 p.m., on Saturday, on a report of a domestic violence incident in progress. When officers arrived they found Knox on the front yard. Police said that he appeared to be intoxicated and that he stood with his right side hidden from the officers. He was told to show his hands but refused, and then he was ordered onto the ground but wouldn't comply, according to police reports. He was eventually subdued and handcuffed by the officers, police said.
Police spoke to a 27-year-old woman who said she was staying at the home as a live-in nurse, and that she cares for the homeowner, who was not there that night. She said that her boyfriend Knox came to visit and they were play wrestling in the bedroom when he began to call her names and use obscenities. He grabbed her wrist, police said, and she rolled onto the floor to get away. He then started hitting her with a pillow and continued to shout obscenities.
Knox then pushed her into a wall and slammed his closed fist into her face repeatedly, according to police. She tried to get outside to call 911, but he grabbed her by the hair, police said. She was able to eventually call 911 from inside the house. She had several contusions on her face and was treated by EMS but refused to go to the hospital, police said. Knox was placed under arrest.
