DARIEN, Conn. -- A homeless man was found inside an office building in Darien last week with a laptop that had been stolen from another officer earlier in the month, according to police.

At around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 30 an officer on patrol saw 24-year-old Carl Agbemabiese walking on Post Road near Richmond Drive. Police said that Agbemabiese is known to officers from previous encounters to be a homeless man, and that officesr lost sight of him when he was in the area of 671 Post Road.

Police said that officers checked 671 Post Road for security and found an unsecured door. Inside the building, Agbemabiese was found inside a first-floor bathroom, police said. He had been warned before to refrain from entering private property, and was placed under arrest, according to police.

Officers found an Apple MacBook computer in his possession, and it was determined to have been a computer stolen from a marketing firm at 320 Post Road , police said. The theft had been reported on July 7. Agbemabiese admitted to taking the computer from the marketing firm, and said he had wiped all the company's information off the hard drive so he could use the computer, according to police.

Agbemabiese was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree computer crime, fifth-degree larceny, and criminal trespass. He was unable to post a $5,000 bond and will appear in court on Aug. 9.
