The Tennant auto scrubber floor washer is the kind that needs to be started with a key and driven, police said.

A cleaning company working at the Stop & Shop in the Goodwives Shopping Center on Old Kings Highway North reported that the washer was stolen sometime between 7 and 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15.

The owner of the cleaning company told police that several people had access to the key for the washer and that it was normal for people to leave the key in the machine.

There was a snowstorm around the time of the theft, and the store temporarily lost power, according to police reports.

Police said they have recovered evidence and are developing suspects. The washer is valued at about $5,000.
