Police told the Stamford Advocate that the 21-year-old man had advertised three pairs of Adidas Yeezy Boost sneakers on social media, and received an offer from someone who was willing to buy them for $1,000. The seller arranged to meet the buyer on Summit Ridge Road in Stamford on Sunday night, the Stamford Advocate reported.
Shortly after exchanging the sneakers for the money, the seller realized the money was counterfeit and confronted the buyer and two of the buyer's friends, according to the Stamford Advocate. The buyer and his friends proceeded to beat up the seller, leaving him bleeding, according to the Stamford Advocate.
The victim declined medical attention and police are working to determine the identity of the three men, the Stamford Advocate reported.
