Man Steals Cash Then Boards Train At Noroton Heights

DARIEN, Conn. -- Someone stole cash from the concession stand at the Noroton Heights train station last week before boarding a train, Darien police said.

The theft occurred Wednesday morning. Police responded to the concession stand shortly after 8:45 a.m. and spoke to an employee, who said that someone had stolen a cash register till with about $200 in cash.

The employee said he had put the cash register drawer up on top of a counter and had left it unattended. Someone then came by and stole it, police said.

The suspect was described as a white man in his late 20s wearing a black jacket, dark pants and brown shoes, police said. He is believed to have then boarded the 8:49 a.m. train. The incident is under investigation.
