Police told the Stamford Advocate that 30-year-old Samantha Cuevas of the Bronx had lured her 10-year-old daughter out of a window at the girl's grandmother's apartment in Stamford on Wednesday afternoon. The grandmother had legal custody of the child, but the mother believed that she had custody of her, and even presented New York custody papers to police, the Stamford Advocate reported. However, new custody papers had been filed in Connecticut, granting custody to the girl's grandmother, according to the Stamford Advocate.
