A parent went to police to report an incident Monday, police said.
The child had made a statement that led the parent to believe the child may have been sexually assaulted by an adult, police said. Police began an investigation and applied for and received an arrest warrant, which was executed Friday morning, police said.
Bayron Castro, 48, of 96 Locust Ave., was arrested on a charge of second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury or impairing morals of a child. He was held on $250,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in court Monday.
Police are not releasing further information about the incident.
