New Darien Officer Graduates From Police Academy

DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien Police Officer Amanda Hinkley recently began her required 10 weeks of field training in Darien after successfully graduating from a 23-week course of instruction in residence at the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden.

Before joining the Darien Police Department, Hinkley had been employed for five years as a physical education teacher at Poughkeepsie High School, where she also coached the girls' junior varsity softball and basketball teams.

Once she successfully completes her 10 weeks of field training, Hinkley will be assigned to a uniformed patrol squad in Darien.
