Omar Andrade, 29, of Norwalk agreed to deliver a kilogram of heroin to a Drug Enforcement Agent Task Force officer acting in an undercover capacity, Daly said in a statement.
Andrade was arrested with two men from New York, Joel A. Estrella-Disla, 24, and Wilmer Antonio Gomez-Rodriguez, 28, after they delivered the drugs to a pre-arranged place in Norwalk.
The three defendants appeared Wednesday, Oct. 1, before U.S. Magistrate Judge William I. Garfinkel in Bridgeport and were ordered detained. Each was charged with one count conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, one kilogram or more of heroin.
If found guilty, the men each face a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10 million.
The matter is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Norwalk Police Department.
