Norwalk Man Charged With Beating, Choking Live-In Girlfriend

NORWALK, Conn. – A Norwalk man was charged with strangling, beating and threatening his live-in girlfriend over the weekend, according to police reports.

Quentin Cobb, 34, of Norwalk was charged with assault, strangulation and other charges Saturday evening.

The victim called police Saturday night to report that Quentin Cobb, 34, of Cutrone Road had assaulted her earlier that day. The woman reported that Cobb grabbed her face and pushed her to the ground, then kicked her in the stomach and dragged her by her hair across the floor multiple times, police said.

Cobb then held the woman down, covered her nose and mouth, and threatened to kill her and her family if she called the police, according to the victim’s report. He also bit her and strangled her during the incident, the woman said. She also told police that Cobb struck himself in the face, telling the woman that he would accuse her of hitting him if she called the police, according to the police report.

The victim was able to get out the of the apartment and call police from a safe place, according to the report. She had visible swelling from her eyes, bruises on various parts of her body and marks around her neck, police said.

Cobb was found at his apartment and admitted to getting into a fight with his girlfriend, police said. He was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, strangulation, unlawful restraint, threatening and disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $5,000, and he was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
