The body of Sandokan Kayan Harrell, 39, was found on Partrick Road in Westport at about 9 a.m. Saturday by a jogger. Police characterized his death as "suspicious."

"It appears that Mr. Harrell may have experienced some sort of medical issue that resulted in his death at a location other than the Partrick Road area where he was found and that someone left him there after that event occurred," Capt. Vincent Penna said in a statement Monday afternoon. "The location of the body and the manner in which he was left on the side of the road appears to have been done by someone who both wanted him to be found and cared about him."

Autopsy reports from the chief medical examiner's office were inconclusive regarding the cause of his death, police said. Further studies, including toxicology results, will take six to eight weeks to receive, police said.

Detectives have been working to reconstruct the last 12 hours of Harrell's life, including where he was and who he was with, police said. He attended an event at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport on Friday evening with friends, police said.

Numerous interviews have been conducted with people who were with Harrell on Friday, but police said that about eight or nine hours are still unaccounted for. They are looking to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Harrell after 10 p.m. Friday.

Police are also attempting to locate a brown FUBU hooded sweat jacket and a black skull-type winter hat that Harrell was reportedly wearing Friday night.

Anybody with information on Harrell's death or who had contact with him Friday night are encouraged to contact the Westport Police Department at 203-341-6010.
