Police: Door Stolen Off Car Near Tennis Courts At Wilton High

WILTON, Conn. — A rear door was stolen off a Honda CRV while it was parked near the tennis courts at Wilton High School on Monday, The Hour said.

Wilton police are investigating the incident, the second one in recent weeks in which a car door was stolen off a vehicle while parked in a town lot.

A spate of thefts of large car parts has been reported in recent weeks in many Fairfield County towns. 

On March 29, a commuter was shocked to hop off the train and find the doors missing from his green 2014 Honda Accord in the parking lot at the Wilton train station, police said.

The doors are worth about $2,000 total, police said.

On April 6, the trunk was stolen of new 2017 Honda Accord while it was parked at a Darien spa, police said said. 

Police estimate the value of the parts stolen at around $3,000.

On March 24 in Fairfield, a woman who parked in a Southport parking lot came back to find her car’s rear hatchback was missing, police said.

Her Toyota Highlander was parked in the Pequot Avenue lot near the Pequot Library when the rear hatchback was stolen along with her license plate, police said.
