Police said business owners have reported receiving phone solicitations from a company called Youth Sports Publications. After the phone call they receive a letter soliciting funds so a business ad can be placed in their "Darien Youth Sports League Journal." The letter claims to support the Darien Youth Sports League and that the ad will provide valuable exposure for the business.

Darien police have verified there is no Darien Youth Sports League. The investigation has been forwarded to the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection.
