The incident occurred as the boy was walking home from school along lower Hollow Tree Ridge Road shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, police said. A man in a gray four-door sedan stopped, rolled down his passenger-side car window and asked the boy whether he was cold and wanted a ride, according to police.

The boy declined the ride, and the man continued to drive north on Hollow Tree Ridge Road, eventually turning right onto Heights Road. He was described as a middle-age Asian man with black and gray hair, police said.

Police said the Board of Education was notified of the incident, and patrols have increased in the area.
