The Mustang was covered, locked and located behind the Camry. The thieves broke into the Camry, damaged its steering column and pushed it onto the lawn so they could get at the Mustang to steal it, police said.

The owner last saw it at 10 p.m. Thursday and discovered it was missing at 7 a.m. Friday, police said. Neither he nor the neighbors heard any noises during the night, police said.

The owner took the Mustang only out for special occasions, police said.
