DARIEN, Conn. -- Two people were detained after someone spotted them in her stolen car in Darien last week.
On Tuesday, Aug. 22, police were dispatched to Allen O'Neill Drive in Darien after receiving a call from someone whose care had been stolen. The caller said that she had seen her stolen car, a 2005 Audi, with two occupants in it. Police responded and detained the two occupants of the car.
Through their investigation, police determined that the driver of the car had purchased it for cash on Aug. 18, police said. He had bought it from a male in Stamford through an ad on Craigslist, and was able to provide evidence of the transaction, according to police.
The two occupants were taken to police headquarters, were detectives interviewed them further. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
