Rifle Found In Road Turns Out To Be BB Gun, Darien Police Say

DARIEN, Conn. -- A rifle found in the road near Ox Ridge Lane in Darien last week turned out to just be a BB gun, police said.

Officers were dispatched to Hollow Tree Ridge Road in the area of Ox Ridge Lane at around 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 9 on a report of what appeared to be a rifle in the road. When they arrived, it was determined that it was a Daisy "Red Rider" BB gun, police said.

Police said that there is nothing to suggest the BB gun was involved in any criminal activity. Anyone with information on the BB gun is asked to contact the Darien Police Department.
