Stamford Man Arrested In Connection With Bus Disturbance

DARIEN, Conn. – A 39-year-old Stamford man was arrested on a charge of breach of peace in Darien last week after he was accused of creating a disturbance on a Connecticut Department of Transportation bus, police said.

Anthony Dickens, of Pacific Street, was accused of smacking another bus passenger in the back of the head and yelling obscenities at her after she closed a window on the bus that Dickens had opened, according to Detective Mark Cappelli.

No injuries were reported.

The incident occurred while the bus was traveling down the Post Road near Old Kings Highway North. When officers questioned Dickens about the argument, he  denied striking the woman and yelling at her, but witnesses corroborated the initial report, police said.

Dickens was released after posting a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 1.
