DARIEN, Conn. -- A group of five Stamford teens were charged with conspiracy to burglary and burglary in Darien on June 18 after a resident saw them breaking into vehicles, according to the Darien Times.

The Anthony Lane resident reported observing a group of five young men breaking into vehicles around 5:30 a.m. to the Darien Police. When police responded to the area, they found the group walking southbound on Hillside.

The unidentified teens, between the ages of 15 and 17, claimed they were coming home from a nearby party. But the complainant identified them as the ones he watched walk away from a car, said the Darien Times.

A follow-up investigation found that the teens were responsible for the theft of two bicycles, and 11 car burglaries on Anthony Lane, Hollow Tree Ridge Road, and Glenwood Road.

They were taken into custody and charged, before being released to their parents, added the Darien Times.
