A passerby spotted the child crying in an Audi at the Shoprite Shopping Center on Hope Street at about 3 p.m., the Advocate said. Medics had determined the child was in good health when the mother, Wenhhsuan Lin, 39, of Frisbie Street, came out of the store after about six minutes, the Advocate said.

Lin was charged with risk of injury to a child and allowed to take the child home, the Advocate said.
