Two Unlocked Cars Burglarized On The Post Road In Darien

DARIEN, Conn. — An unknown burglar or burglars hit two cars parked on the Post Road in three days last week, Darien police said.

The first incident occurred at about 12:58 p.m. Oct. 3 at 780 Post Road. 

The owner of a tan 2016 Nissan Pathfinder said she parked her car, walked to the Post Road to hang a sign and then returned to her car, police said. She said she left the car unlocked.

Upon her return, she saw her purse had been taken, police said. Taken was a bag and wallet valued at $300, a driver’s license, car keys, sunglasses valued at $100, credit cards, and an iPhone. 

The second incident occurred at 12:58 p.m. Oct. 5 at 780 Post Road, police said. 

The owner of a black 2016 Audi said she parked her car and went into 780 Post Road for approximately three minutes, police said. She said she left the car unlocked.

When she came out, she discovered her purse was missing, police said. Taken was a bag valued at $200, a second bag valued at $148, car keys, $100 in cash, a driver’s license, passport, and several credit cards, police said. 

Police were continuing to investigate both incidents.
