Police were called to the Splash Car Wash on Post Road at around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 25. One employee had driven a customer's vehicle, a black 2006 Infinity, into a wash bay and parked it behind a second customer's vehicle, a blue 2005 Mercedes.

Another employee then entered the Infinity to begin to detail the interior, and shortly thereafter it lurched forward, pinning a third employee between the Infinity and the Mercedes, police said.

The victim was freed and transported to the hospital with lower leg injuries. The owners of the cars said there were no known defects to either car.

Police said that the investigation is continuing, but it appears that the Infinity may have been left in drive or inadvertently placed in gear while being detailed. No charges are contemplated or pending at this time, police said.
