Did you watch the state-by-state vote of delegates at the Republican National Convention?
- Yes, I never miss it
- No, not this time
The Connecticut delegation cast all of its 28 delegates for Trump, who won the state primary in April. Making the announcement for the great state of Connecticut was state Republican Party Chairman J.R. Romano.
"Mister Chairman, I come from the land where we manufacture Pez, nuclear submarines and the home of the WWE, where men are men and women are champions,” Romano said. “The great state of Connecticut casts all 28 delegates for the next president of the United States, Donald J. Trump.”
About an hour later, Trump went over the top as his son, Donald Trump Jr., cast the ballots for his home state of New York just after 7 p.m.
“It is my honor to be able to throw Donald Trump over the top in the delegate count tonight,” Trump Jr. said. “Congratulations, Dad, we love you!”
The band played “New York, New York,” and the Jumbotron said “Over the Top” as the crowd went wild.
