Darien's approved town budget increased 0.45 percent to about $30.5 million, the Darien Times said.
The mill rate will increase by 2.5 percent to 15.75 for te 2016-17 fiscal year, which starts July 1, Darien Times reported.
The approved board of education budget is about $93.8 million, which includes the deferment of capital projects to expand the cafeteria at Darien High School, said the Darien Times.
Final approval now rests with the Representative Town Meeting, which is expected to set the mill rate and vote on the budgets May 9, the Darien Times reported.
