DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien League of Women Voters will host a pair of events featuring discussion and debate among municipal candidates on Oct. 22 and Oct. 30.
"This is a great opportunity to meet the candidates and ask about the many issues facing our town," the League said in a statement.
The Oct. 22 event will take place at 7 p.m. in the lobby of Darien Town Hall will feature the candidates for Tax Collector, Board of Finance, Planning & Zoning, Board of Selectman and First Selectman.
Candidates for the Office of Board of Education will participate in a discussion and debate set for Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Darien Library Community Room. This is a contested race with four candidates, two Democrats and two Republicans, running for three positions on the Board. The evening begins at 7 p.m. and concludes at 8:15 p.m.
During both events, voters will be able to submit written questions to the candidates either in person or online via our website. Both events will be videotaped by Channel 79 and rebroadcast prior to Election Day on Nov. 5.
