Darien's Rep. Wood Co-Hosts 'Women-Owned Business Day'

HARTFORD, Conn. – State Rep. Terrie Wood (R-141) co-hosted the Women's Business Development Council’s second annual “Women-Owned Business Day" at the state Capitol.

"Women in business are a natural pair and training women to be successful entrepreneurs is vital to Connecticut's future," said Wood. After speaking about the reasons women succeed in business, Wood discussed the economic influence of women-owned businesses with state and national leaders. 

Amanda Brown, the executive director of the National Women's Business council, was the event's keynote speaker. 

The event was sponsored by the WBDC and the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women.
