The vote clears the way for construction of new wind power in Connecticut, lifting an effective moratorium in the absence of approved regulations.
“Our state has adopted a sensible policy of not picking winners amongst the various clean energy technologies, instead encouraging them to compete against one another to offer the lowest possible cost," Duff said in a statement. "The effective moratorium on wind development prevented that technology from competing freely, but I expect we will soon see new projects move forward.”
The new regulations will take effect after being filed with the secretary of the state.
