Murphy, who started his walk on Monday in Voluntown near the Rhode Island border, has made his way across the Nutmeg State this week — one step at a time.

After stopping Friday night in Darien for a town hall-style meeting at Tilley Pond Park and a big meal at Burger, Shake and Fries, the junior senator will step off Saturday.

He will step off from Darien on Saturday morning and head through Stamford. The finish line will be at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park at 100 Arch St. in Greenwich, which he plans to hit on Saturday, Sept. 3, at about 11:30 a.m.

Murphy entered Fairfield County on Thursday afternoon, making a stop in Stratford at the Sterling House Community Center and then holding a community meeting in Bridgeport

On Friday, he continued along the Gold Coast, making stops in Fairfield and Westport. He met up with his colleague U.S. Rep. Jim Himes at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk and they walked together to the Darien event in the evening.

How far has he walked? A total of 114 miles as of Friday evening — with just about 10 miles more to go.

Murphy is keeping an online journal of his journey from Voluntown to Greenwich. To read his daily installments, click here.
