The price of admission to Tokeneke, a tiny enclave on a tidal cove of Long Island Sound, might be daunting to all but a handful of folks.

The real estate brokerage firm of Houlihan Lawrence has just listed the contemporary home on Arrowhead Way for $3.975 million.

Designed by Deborah Berke, who is now the dean of the Yale School of Architecture, the home is sited on 1.1 acres in the middle of Tokeneke.

According to the brokers, it was custom built in 2006 and features an open gourmet kitchen, family media room, and first-floor master bedroom with a fireplace that opens out to a private patio that also has a fireplace.

If that’s not enough, the 4,976-square-foot manse also has a sauna, wine cellar and a guest house.

Tokeneke began life as a summer colony for New York’s well-heeled upper-class and is overseen by a neighborhood taxing authority that maintains its private roads and provides security from the outside world.

According to media reports, once folks are in, they stay, and properties are hard to come by.
