Darien To Open First New Home Community In Decades

DARIEN, Conn. — Kensett, the first new home community in Darien in a generation, will open early next year.

Made up of 62 residences, Kensett offers three- and four-bedroom homes ranging in size from 3,200 to more than 4,400 square feet. They are priced from $1.3 million to more than $1.6 million.

Each home is designed in traditional New England style and is set within nearly 16 acres of landscaped grounds, which will eventually include walking trails and a conservation preserve.

The energy-efficient residences feature custom finishes, including hardwood flooring throughout the main living areas; gas fireplaces with handcrafted mantels; recessed lighting; and generous closet and storage spaces. Kitchens include granite counter tops, hardwood cabinetry and top-of-the-line appliances. All of the homes have master baths with tempered glass showers, double-sink vanities, marble or ceramic floor tile and Kohler fixtures.

Kensett’s 4,000-square-foot community clubhouse features a resort-style swimming pool, hot tub and outdoor fire pit, as well as a fitness center equipped with aerobic machines, free weights, flat-screen televisions and a yoga studio with hardwood floors, mirrored walls and ballet bar.

The sales office is located at 1 Kensett Lane in Darien, off Hoyt Street, Route 106, near Camp Avenue.
