McHugh achieved the designation after completing course work designed specifically for Realtors. The courses were created in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of industry experts from across the country, ensuring designees gain comprehensive knowledge of green homes and buildings and issues of sustainability in relation to real estate.

McHugh was trained in understanding what makes a property green, helping clients to evaluate the cost/benefits of green building features and practices, distinguishing between industry rating and classification systems, listing and marketing green homes and buildings, discussing the financial grants and incentives available to homeowners, and helping consumers see a property’s green potential.

“I have always been a big supporter of green building practices, having built an Energy Star Certified home of my own. I feel I am well equipped to help green builders articulate to buyers the benefits of their homes as well as helping my clients make smart decisions when it comes to factoring in home energy efficiencies.” McHugh said.

As an NAR Green Designee, McHugh has gained the knowledge and the tools necessary to become a trusted green resource for Fairfield County.

The Higgins Group is the exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate for the Westport and Fairfield region. The Higgins Group has 12 offices located throughout Fairfield County and more than 400 agents
