NEW CANAAN, Conn. ? Amalia Amarilios, 87, a New Canaan resident for over 40 years, died Nov. 25 at her home. Amarilios was born on Aug. 16, 1924, in Istanbul, Turkey. She was the wife of Alexander A. Amarilios, a member of the Philoptochos Society of Stamford and a former member of the New Canaan Womens Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, John Amarilios of New Canaan.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford St. in Stamford. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Archangels. A Trisagion service will be held at 7 p.m.
