Anthony Rivera, of Stillwater Avenue, and two unnamed female accomplices allegedly got into a fight with twin sisters this past Oct. 7 in front of 118 Washington St., police said.
The women with Rivera yelled obscenities at the two sisters and were not charged, police said. Rivera, however, is accused of punching one of the sisters in the mouth, breaking her jaw, and punching the other sister in the right eye.
Eyewitnesses who saw the incident said Rivera and the two women left in the same car. They gave the plate number to police.
A warrant was issued for Rivera, and he was picked up on an unrelated matter Monday by Fairfield Police. He was transported to Norwalk Police headquarters early Tuesday.
Rivera was charged with second degree assault and held in lieu of a $25,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Tuesday.
