Chayal el Chayal is an Israel-based organization that supports lone soldiers, both men and women serving in the Israeli Army. These lone soldiers leave the comforts of their own homes to serve and protect Israel. Lone soldiers constitute more than 6,000 of Israeli's current soldiers.

Often these lone soldiers are living in Israel and serving in the military without any family or relatives for support. Chayal el Chayal provides a complete support network for these soldiers. Their services range from enlisting these soldiers, helping them navigate the language, providing dorms for them to stay, hosting Shabbat and holiday meals, as well as making barbeques and birthday parties. There is even counseling available for the soldiers if the needs arise.

Valley Chabad’s Grade 6 Hebrew School Class is hosting a Challah Bake to raise money for the soldiers to have a Purim Party. The students will gather orders in advance and bake and wrap the challah for pickup.

Orders should be submitted by Monday, Feb. 1. Pre-order or donate to Chayal el Chayal by clicking here or calling 201-476-0157.

Pickup will be on from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at Valley Chabad, 100 Overlook Drive, Woodcliff Lake.
