Waterfront Home In Darien Carries Record Price Tag Of $30 Million

DARIEN, Conn. – A 17-room waterfront estate in Darien is listed for sale for $30 million, which is believed to be a record asking price for a home in town, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The home at 188 Long Neck Point Road sits on 3.7 acres and offers views of Noroton Bay, Long Island Sound and the Manhattan skyline. It has eight bedrooms, seven fireplaces, a library, a formal dining room and a large kitchen/family room that leads to a screened porch. All of these rooms have water views. The lot offers 380 feet of shoreline, and the house boasts 17,000 square feet of living space.

The Wall Street Journal report said only two houses in Darien have sold for more than $12 million. Last year, a house sold for $20.5 million, according to the report. A home at 107 Long Neck Point Road is currently listed for $15.9 million, according to Trulia.com.

Halstead Property is listing the 188 Long Neck Point Road home. Agent Janet Olmstead declined to comment. Chris Merritt is also a listing agent.
