College Students Earn Scholarships From Darien Chamber

DARIEN, Conn. — Each year, the Darien Chamber of Commerce raises money for scholarship awards through various donations and events – primarily through the Annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction Benefit.

The scholarships are awarded through the Darien Chamber Charitable Foundation. 

This year the Darien Chamber was able to award four scholarships in total. 

Two were awarded to Darien High School seniors: Tyler Grant, who will attend the University of Connecticut, and Alyssa Findlan, who will attend Michigan State University. 

The DCC Merit Scholarship went to Mackenzie Coughlin, who attends Providence College and is the daughter of Chamber member Dave Coughlin of Lawley Insurance. 

The STEM scholarship was awarded to Caitlin Ross, who attends Columbia University Medical School and is an employee at David Harvey Jewelers, a Chamber member as well.
