Darien Community Association Awards Scholarships To 22 Students

DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Community Association (DCA) announced this year's scholarship winners, 22 in all.

The DCA honors both incoming and returning college students with $50,000 of scholarships to be given out yearly. The application process begins in early spring for Darien High School seniors, while returning students' applications are considered in June..

Scholarships are made possible from the Thrift Shop and other DCA programs, and over $2 million has been given out to over 1300 graduates.

Here are this year's winners:

Laura Anglade, Concordia College; Andrew Boe, University of Vermont (winner of The Heights at Darien Scholarship); Lily Boe, Villanova University; Kelly Brustman, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; Jessica DeMaio, University of Connecticut-Storrs; Tristan Ersek, Marshall University; Alexandra Ford, Ohio State University; Julia Rae Hodenfield, Ursinus College.

Renee Hodenfield, Rochester Institute of Technology; Murtuza Jafri, University of Connecticut-Storrs; Soyoung Lee, University of Connecticut-Storrs; Anne Marie Manjuck, Western Connecticut State University; Greg Marku, University of Connecticut-Stamford; Devon McCarthy, Boston University.
