Darien High School Model UN Earns Awards At Conference

DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien High School Model United Nations Club had a stellar outing  April 18-19 at the Stuyvesant High School Model UN Conference in New York City.

Junior Nick Hartunian brought home the “Best Delegate” gavel. Sophomore Brendan Berrigan won an Outstanding Delegate award and sophomore Michael Borecki and junior Dana Cahoon each won honorable mentions for their work, according to a press release.

At the event, students adopt the position of a country they have been assigned and represent the views of that country in a simulation of the kinds of debates taking place in the United Nations. The students negotiate and collaborate with students from other schools in attempt to resolve global problems.
