Darien Home To 5 Of The 25 Best Elementary Schools In The State

DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien is home to five elementary schools among the state's Top 25, according to Niche, an education research website.

Darien had five elementary schools listed in the state's top 25 in a recent report.

Royle Elementary was the top elementary school in Darien, coming in at No. 10 overall in the rankings. Hindley was next at No. 11, followed by Tokeneke Elementary at No. 13, Ox Ridge at No. 20 and Holmes at No. 22.

Niche collected data and ranked each elementary school in the state based on the following criteria:

Academics
Overall district experience
Teachers grade
Student culture and diversity

Royle excelled academically with a 97 percent math proficiency and 92 percent for reading.

New Canaan's South, East and West schools took the top three spots in the rankings.

Overall, schools in Fairfield County overwhelmed the top of the rankings:
