Darien Human Services Seeks Back-To-School Donations

DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Human Services Department is requesting back-to-school donations so that children can get off to a good start.

Appointments for children begin Aug. 10 and end Aug. 28. Last year, 144 children were helped.

The donations requested include adult-size backpacks; number 2 pencils; pink erasers; yellow highlighters; pencil cases; binder paper; three-ring binders (1.5 inches); three-ring pencil cases; pocket folder; red pens; blue pens; black pens; colored pencils; crayons; jumbo crayons; rulers; colored markers; sticky notes; glue sticks; book cover; blunt-end scissors; book covers; $25 Payless Shoes gift cards; and single-subject notebooks.
