Darien Middle Schoolers Show Off Academic Talent

Seventeen seventh-graders from Middlesex Middle School in Darien took the SAT or ACT and did well enough to qualify for the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth Intensive Studies Programs.

This is a higher level program than the level that kids qualify for by scoring high on the Connecticut state standardized tests. The tests were taken as part of the Johns Hopkins' annual Talent Search, which is the nation's oldest and most extensive academic talent search.

Pictured in the top row are: Kyle Canelli, Charlie Cragin, Katie Conn, Kiera Xanthos and Sarah LeHan.
