Darien School Board Approves $93.8M Budget

DARIEN, CONN. – A school spending plan of $93.8 million was unanimously approved this week by the Darien Board of Education, according to a report by DarienTimes.com.

The budget for 2016-17 represents a 3.44 percent increase over last year’s spending plan and was presented by Superintendent Dan Brenner, DarienTimes.com reported.

The priority capital projects, including the installation of turf on the athletic fields at Darien High School, were also unanimously approved, the Darien Times said.

The budget now heads to the town’s Board of Finance for approval, the DarienTimes.com story said.
